Big T and I have lived in this area for the last seven years but haven’t found time to take advantage of all of the cultural activities we’re blessed with. When Li’l T came around I became determined to learn about this area as a family. In July we went to the Annual Water Lily and Lotus Asian Cultures Festival. An annual event put on by the National Park Service and the group Modern Buddhism of America.
It was a really warm afternoon while we walked around the wetlands and listened to the kiddie and Asian performers on stage. I had never seen lotus blossoms before so I was really amazed at their size. This photo doesn’t do them any justice as there were blossoms as tall as I am.
Li’l T obviously enjoyed himself.
All-in-all is was a great event. We’ll go again next year but we’ll head out there earlier so we avoid some of the heat.
